Tribal Sentiments Exist In Network Business Too.

This is my personal life experience I feel like sharing as it is ongoing.
I want to share what I experienced during all the time I was looking for new prospects to register as my downlines in Meridian Life Support Foundation Inc Company.  Mind you,  this is ongoing.

I never knew Nigeria was so deeply divided as a country that  this  division extends to every facet of life including very simple little things people of other countries ordinarily overlook.
Things like registering people to recruit as downlines, Yes you heard me right!  Even when you want to register someone into a networking business in Nigeria.

Someone from Edo State will rather prefer to register under his fellow Edo person than to register under another tribe. Even though you were first to tell them about the business.  They would rather take out their time and search for another registered member of the same tribal decent  than register under you. Same goes with other tribes.

Now I am not generalising,  there are certainly exceptions i.e some people are never tribalistic at all.  Yep that's true,  you will still find very few true Nigerians who set aside tribal sentiments and embrace unity.  But these people are less than 10% of the population. The majority of Nigerians who are tribal heroes are in the 90%.

It's quite shocking that few have opened up to me to voice their reasons why they can't register under me.  And the reason they gave is because I am of a different tribal decent. Thanks to those people for being blunt and rude to me, at least it opened my eyes. Although many will never tell you reasons why they cannot be your downlines in networking business.  They will simply give you flimsy excuses.  Well I decided to do my own investigations and found out this is widely done.

From my experience,  the majority i.e 90% have tribal sentiments consciously or unconsciously.  And those tribal sentiments are evident in daily life in the most subtle ways unimaginable. It's rarely openly expressed but you see it playing out right before your eyes.

It's quite unfortunate that these things exist even inside network marketing business in Nigeria.  I never expected this Nigerian  tribal faultlines to extend this deep even into network marketing.

The stabbing truth is that networking business is mostly done by the younger generation in Nigeria,  not the older generation.  It is done by mostly Nigerians 40years and below.  It's mind boggling that these tribal seeds are already being sewn by the present younger generation.   Ouch!  I wonder what Nigeria will become? I wonder where this country will go from here? I wonder how Nigeria will make progress as a country with this existing deep tribal faultline?
